Welcome

Welcome To The Florida Tax Collectors Association
Welcome to the Florida Tax Collectors Association website.  In Florida there are 67 County Tax Collectors that perform a variety of local and state agency services for residents and non-residents in Florida.

The purpose of this website is two fold:

1) to serve as a portal to help users find the County Tax Collector to conduct business and

2) to provide general information for our legislative work in Tallahassee.

Real ID Act

Are You Real ID Ready?

Florida is leading the nation in an effort to provide our residents with a more secure identification document.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2010, Floridians renewing or obtaining a new driver license / identification card will be required to show proof of 1) identification, 2) Social Security number and 3) two items of residential address.

To help residents navigate through these new requirements, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is launching a communication initiative encouraging Floridians to gather your documents, go to a driver license office and get your new card. The “Gather. Go. Get.” campaign will launch to the general public early-July 2009.

Florida residents obtaining a new license, replacing a lost/stolen card or changing their name prior to their renewal date should visit an issuing office with new forms of documentation ready for processing.

Floridians looking to renew a driver license are allowed to do so by a convenience method (Internet or mail) up to one time. Following this convenience option, your next renewal must be in a driver license or tax collector office, at which time you will be asked to provide required documentation.

If Florida drivers and ID card holders do not visit a driver license office by Dec. 1, 2014 or Dec. 1, 2017 (depending on their birthday) and present required documentation for their new card, they will not be allowed to board a commercial flight or enter a federal building.

Residents are able to visit the campaign website – GatherGoGet.com – and create a personalized checklist of documents needed to obtain their new driver license or identification card.

The “Gather. Go. Get.” campaign will include a combination of statewide partnership outreach, publicity initiatives, a paid advertising component and website launch.
